Shimmer of Life

I'm a ways away from the direction I should be leading
Who would've thought I'd be sifting through the days with Winter peeking over my shoulder
One of these days I'll be an astronaut so that I can feel the weather where it doesn't exist
I can look down at my past while the present continuously becomes the future
I'm figuring out the gist of things faster than before
I used to ignore meteors heading in my direction
But perfection isn't what I strive for
Nope, not anymore
I look for the beauty in life
It really is a beautiful life
Fly your kites
See how high you can fly
Touch the milky sky and beyond
I'm very fond in keeping in touch with positive vibes
Existence is a ride
There are bumps and fears, but but once you let go
It's nothing but a mere shimmer of light
Hang on tight
Open your eyes and enjoy the flight

Hello Chicago!

Hello Chicago!
Good morning ma'm beautiful day
Pardon sir I'm in the way
You must forgive me
I just gotta say
Hello Chicago!
If you haven't been
You surely must go
To where the tulips spring
And the buildings grow
The click click clack from heal to toe
Should let you know
Hello Chicago
You've gotta see the city lights
And the stunning moonlite nights
The good old Navy Pier in the snow
Sears Tower is the place to go
To see it all below
Come on now you gotta go
Hello Chicago!
The Blues?
Sure we got it here
The beer?
Good sir, have no fear

They got bears and cubs and bulls and sox
Hey! Don't forget the Hawks!

The summer brings dancing kites
holding hands beneath a moonlit night
Swirling fireflies
A game of bags and a high five
survive
arrive
derive

we'll be cruising down lake shore drive

And In the winter the wind bites

It'll make you feel delight
And if you're not afraid of heights
Then we can stay all night

Sears tower is the place to go
to see chicago down below

Enjoy a second city sketch
Sing along at the home stretch
You've gotta see the moonlite nights
You've gotta see Soldier Field in the snow

Why don't we go to Navy Pier
Let's go out and have a beer
(No?)
You've gotta see it
To believe it
Hello Chicago!
I want to take a stroll down Michigan Ave.
I

Whether sun, or snow, or even rain
You're sure to be glad you came to
This wonderous, radiant, glorious, magnificent
(What are you trying to say?)
Hello Chicago!

Peruse the river cruise
And catch a game with the lovable losers

I Want To Love You For All Of My Years

I'm a mess to think I could live without you
Get myself dressed in my mirror on my wall
Looking for your reflection from behind my ear
I want to love you for all of my years

I go to the market on my slow days
Shopping for the fruits of yesterday
If you want I can get you a coke or a beer
I want to love you for all of my years

I take my walks in the city where we used to play
Twiddling with the idea of splashing water on my face
But I don't have my woman to wipe off my tears
I want to love you for all of my years

Eating supper in our living space
I'm not the type of person to finish my plate
I'm the same size as you except in the rear
I want to love you for all of my years

I can dance by myself with our playlist on the dial
No one can judge me cause I'm new to the mile
And I know once you get here you'll help me face my fears
I want to love you for all of my years

I'm not put together quite yet
But I am getting there
Well I may not be a doctor or lawyer, much less a career
I want to love you for all my years

I live in the present, but the future is near
The days leading up are almost here
I feel like explorers on the cusp of the frontier
I want to love you for all of my years
I just want to love you for all of my years
