I Want To Love You For All Of My Years

I'm a mess to think I could live without you
Get myself dressed in my mirror on my wall
Looking for your reflection from behind my ear
I want to love you for all of my years

I go to the market on my slow days
Shopping for the fruits of yesterday
If you want I can get you a coke or a beer
I want to love you for all of my years

I take my walks in the city where we used to play
Twiddling with the idea of splashing water on my face
But I don't have my woman to wipe off my tears
I want to love you for all of my years

Eating supper in our living space
I'm not the type of person to finish my plate
I'm the same size as you except in the rear
I want to love you for all of my years

I can dance by myself with our playlist on the dial
No one can judge me cause I'm new to the mile
And I know once you get here you'll help me face my fears
I want to love you for all of my years

I'm not put together quite yet
But I am getting there
Well I may not be a doctor or lawyer, much less a career
I want to love you for all my years

I live in the present, but the future is near
The days leading up are almost here
I feel like explorers on the cusp of the frontier
I want to love you for all of my years
I just want to love you for all of my years
