I count my figures til I reach ten
Turn to the clock to see if I made the time
Then flee to the scene of a siren
This is turning into a theme
Oh the road that leads me to the rose gardens
They let me witness them as they bloom in my hands
I pedal through the pages to make amends
I'll be fine finding my way back home again
The sun is my northern star
I follow it like citrus from a lemon
Meet me at the bar
Just follow the yellow brick road
I'll buy you a drink or two to hold
I'll show you my finest hand puppets
I'll make them dance on the walls for you
I want you to sit back; eyes closed and enjoy the trumpets
They'll serenade the night
Did I mention the trumpets?
Friends til the end
That's my motto
Let's find the night
Come on! right outside!
Birds chirp in the dark
Makes me second guess the time of day
I'll sleep when I'm ready
That's what the thinkers say
Run run
runrunrun
I sure do love to rum
It's my drink of choice
We'll awake at the sound of my voice
I've set it to 10AM
Yeah, we'll wake then

Watercolored Painted Sky
There's a window sunset in my eyes
like a water-colored painted sky
like an angel in disguise
If i live if i die
will you be there to say goodbye
Help me walk through the fields
where we met, where we kneeled
dripping blood as i cry
will you help me make them dry
like a water-colored painted sky
like an angel in disguise
If i live if i die
will you be there to say goodbye
Help me walk through the fields
where we met, where we kneeled
dripping blood as i cry
will you help me make them dry
Happily Ever After
Darling wants to go to the movies
Darling wants to go to the show
Darling just wants someone to hold
Feeling like shes getting too old
I know there's somewhere she wants to be
But she doesn't seem to be telling me
The way the light reflects off her hair
It gives my eyes a place to stare
When shes not there
Cause Jesus said there's a book of love
and the lord is looking from above
To guide you to where you wanna be
Wanna be sailing across the sea
through the trees
I know that she just wants to be happily ever after
Darling wants to know what it's like to be dead
Darling is constantly in her head
Trying to leave the life that she had when
she said
I don't wanna be this kind of sad
But Jesus said there's a book of love
that the lord created from above
It'll guide you to where you wanna be
Wanna be gliding across the sea
Through the trees
I know that you just wanna be happily ever after
I'll take you to where you can see
All of the possibilities
All of the new specialties
All of the things that you can be
Royalty Loyalty spoil me spoil me
Cause I know that all that you want to be - is to live - happily - ever after
I just want to live - happily - ever after
ever after

DVD
Mother I was watching - a very old DVD
And it reminded me - of the times before TV
I figured out a long time ago - that the world is aging faster than we know
I'll try to remember how you look to me
But just remember - I wont be the same person that I used to be
Let me tell you now
The times have come
The times have gone
The days are short
The nights so long
There's a place I can go
Where I can be alone
It's a place that nobody knows about
Just give me a ring on the phone
If you need just listen for my shout
I'm just cold and dizzy
It'll pass soon I'm sure
I know for a fact cause the cat's still alive on the floor
Mother I was watching a very old DVD
And it reminded me of the times before TV
I figured out a long time ago what the world was about
But nobody taught me how to let it out

Preacher
There are heroes out there like you
That go from door to door searching for clues
The doorbell blues are tough breaks for the heart
The knocks to the floor mats are a good place to start
Social situations make me nervous
And the white in my hair grows
I'm here to do you a service
I'm here to let you know what needs to be known
I'm not here to preach
Give me a moment of your time to teach
There's a light in the eyes of few who truly know what we do
That go from door to door searching for clues
The doorbell blues are tough breaks for the heart
The knocks to the floor mats are a good place to start
Social situations make me nervous
And the white in my hair grows
I'm here to do you a service
I'm here to let you know what needs to be known
I'm not here to preach
Give me a moment of your time to teach
There's a light in the eyes of few who truly know what we do
Paranoid
There's a light on in the den which I leave on in case of strangers
And the locks on the doors keep me safe at night
The wheels in my head keep turning
Its helps me with my fright
I wake up to a barrel of booze in the morning
And my smokes fill up the room
The walls that were once white and swollen
Fade to to grey with ashy gloom
But don't tell me I'm alone
I'm merly in your spell
I push and I shove to break loose
I'm in your state of hell
And you're so coy
Don't look at me, darling
I'm paranoid
And the locks on the doors keep me safe at night
The wheels in my head keep turning
Its helps me with my fright
I wake up to a barrel of booze in the morning
And my smokes fill up the room

69
When the streets call out my name in the night
Fright fills from ear to ear as I hear her calling my name
Fame from the buildings which held my idols who will soon become my peers
Coconut coils shave the walls of freshly painted rooms
The Gods are coming soon
It's faintly written in the Chicago Tribune
American's headed for the moon on a cool day in 69
We'll find out once and for all what heaven is like
Who will claim it? I'll be sure to make it mine
My friends are getting screwy off bottles of wine
White for the girls and red the for the guys
My mind is in the clouds
Once and for all
No one has the courage to come and get me
They're too afraid I may never come down
My chin perched on the cusp of time
I'll wait til '69 for the rockets to head towards the sun
It's their time to shine
I'll have time to grow
It'll be my time to go
Parachute rides frighten my soul
But I'll go
Land somewhere nice
Like Hawaii, Florida or the kokomo
Though the sand is cold
Just lead me to the sun
Nothing like ice cold toes
When you're blazing on the run
Fright fills from ear to ear as I hear her calling my name
Fame from the buildings which held my idols who will soon become my peers
Coconut coils shave the walls of freshly painted rooms
The Gods are coming soon
It's faintly written in the Chicago Tribune
