When the streets call out my name in the night
Fright fills from ear to ear as I hear her calling my name
Fame from the buildings which held my idols who will soon become my peers
Coconut coils shave the walls of freshly painted rooms
The Gods are coming soon
It's faintly written in the Chicago Tribune
American's headed for the moon on a cool day in 69
We'll find out once and for all what heaven is like
Who will claim it? I'll be sure to make it mine
My friends are getting screwy off bottles of wine
White for the girls and red the for the guys
My mind is in the clouds
Once and for all
No one has the courage to come and get me
They're too afraid I may never come down
My chin perched on the cusp of time
I'll wait til '69 for the rockets to head towards the sun
It's their time to shine
I'll have time to grow
It'll be my time to go
Parachute rides frighten my soul
But I'll go
Land somewhere nice
Like Hawaii, Florida or the kokomo
Though the sand is cold
Just lead me to the sun
Nothing like ice cold toes
When you're blazing on the run
