Waiting on the World

As the world slowly turns
I turn to the world and ask for a chance
To feel how it's like to twirl calmly in circles
Through all the purples and blues
They help me to dream
The clouds in the sky is just dust in my eyes
From the long summer drought of girls in disguise
I'm shy to ask why the world has no trouble
Closing its eyes night after night
While I sit and watch by myself in delight
I catch myself grin as I stare at the moon
Yet it's reflection heads back with a frown and a gloom
But it's ok by me, and I'll still make room
For the one special girl to watch the world with me
And watch the autumn bloom
